When most people think about a boat, RV or off-grid power system, they think about convenience: lights that turn on, fridges that stay cold, phones that stay charged. At Full Power, we think about all of that too — but we start somewhere else entirely. We start with safety.

Safety Learned at Sea

Full Power founder Oliver Cridge didn't arrive at this philosophy from a textbook. It came from multiple ocean crossings, including crossing the Indian Ocean, where the margin between a comfortable passage and a genuinely dangerous one often comes down to power: whether your systems work when you need them to, and whether you understand them well enough to fix a problem when you're a very long way from help.

Over more than 15 years of studying renewable energy and marine engineering, that lesson has shaped everything about how Full Power designs a system. Safety isn't a feature we add at the end. It's the first question we ask.

Real Safeguards for Real Situations

Every vessel, vehicle or off-grid property has its own safety-critical needs, and part of our process is identifying yours specifically. For one recent liveaboard client, that meant an onboard medical refrigeration setup that could never be allowed to rise above five degrees. We built a temperature-monitoring and alarm system into their power setup that sends an immediate alert the moment conditions drift out of range — so a problem is caught in minutes, not discovered days later.

That's the kind of safeguard that only gets built when safety is treated as core engineering, not an afterthought.

Quality Workmanship Is a Safety Feature

A power system that's poorly installed isn't just inefficient — it's a risk. Loose connections, undersized cabling and components that aren't rated for the marine or off-grid environment are how fires start and systems fail at the worst possible moment. Full Power builds every system to a high standard of workmanship, using components sourced directly from trusted manufacturers, because cutting corners on safety is never an option.

Documentation You Can Actually Understand

Every Full Power installation comes with clear, interactive electrical drawings — numbered so that every item and every cable can be traced and understood, even by someone without an engineering background. If something ever needs attention, whether that's you or a technician on the other side of the world, they can see exactly what's connected to what. In an emergency, or simply for peace of mind, that clarity matters.

Peace of Mind, Wherever You Are

Because so many of our systems include remote monitoring, owners don't have to be onboard to know their system — and their safety-critical equipment — is working properly. Whether you're traveling on the other side of the world or simply ashore for the evening, you can check in on your system and know it's doing exactly what it should.

Safety is why Full Power exists. Everything else — the silence, the efficiency, the freedom — is only possible once that foundation is right.
